Who we are

Penielly is a photo and video backup service operated by SiliconBlast (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it.

What we collect

  • Your content: the photos and videos you upload, and metadata within them (capture time, location if present).
  • Account data: your email and name, handled by our identity provider (SiliconBlast Identity). Passwords are hashed; we never see them in plain text.
  • Usage & device data: basic logs needed to run and secure the service.

How we use it

To store and serve your library, generate search, group people and places (see below), secure your account, and provide support. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your photos to train third-party models.

Face grouping (biometric data)

Grouping photos by people is off by default and processes biometric data only after you explicitly turn it on. You can turn it off at any time, which permanently deletesall associated face data.

Storage & security

Content is stored encrypted in transit and at rest with our cloud providers. Originals are content-addressed and access is scoped to your account.

Your rights

You can access, export, or delete your content and account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under the GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws. Contact us to exercise them.

Data retention

We keep your content while your account is active. Deleted items are removed from Trash and purged from storage; backups are cycled out on a rolling basis.
